Melting Pot and Optimo (Espacio) have joined forces to host its popular Queen’s Park Spring Weekender festival in May.
Seventies New York funk band ESG, who performed on the opening night of the famous Hacienda nightclub in Manchester, will play the festival at the Queen’s Park Recreation Ground over the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend.
The event will see a mix of global and homegrown DJs and artists on the decks across Saturday May 4 and Sunday May 5.
American DJ The Blessed Madonna, who has collaborated with Dua Lipa and Fred Again, will perform in the Big Top Tent on Saturday along with Norwegian DJ Todd Terie and DJ Paulette.
The Saturday edition will feature local talent including Supermax disco veteran Billy Woods, Rebecca Vasmant and a debut from Hayley Zalassi.
ESG top the bill on Sunday with a live fusion of punk, hip-hop and funk following a back-to-back set from Optimo and Joy Orbison.
NTS radio resident Ribeka and Notting Hill Carnival dub veteran Aba-Shanti-I will round out the eclectic full-day line-up.
Pre-sale tickets for the Queen’s Park Spring Weekender go live at Thursday February 1 on the Resident Advisor website for those who sign up from Tuesday January 30. The wider release will be available from 11am on Friday February 2.
Day tickets start from £35 plus booking fee, and weekend tickets are available from £65 plus booking fee.
