Mop man: Dancing cleaner goes viral at Commonwealth Games

CJ Miller has become an overnight internet sensation after showcasing his moves with a vacuum cleaner and a mop

A dancing cleaner has gone viral while mopping up at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

CJ Miller has become an overnight internet sensation for dusting off his dance moves at the SEC Centre.

The 25-year-old from Livingston was hired by organisers to entertain crowds between breaks – instantly making him a fan favourite.

He has been dubbed the Mop Man, after posing as a cleaner with a hoover and a mop before spontaneously rocking the floor with his dance tricks – a mixture of jazz, ballet and hip-hop.

Posing with his mop named Doris, the entertainer said: “I’ve been dancing since I was 14, I fell in love with it when I watched Billie Elliot the musical.

“I was actually going to do law school before I went and took my career in dance and I’ve been able to do incredible things from TV to films and choreography.

“I started off as a street dancer, so it’s really about the comedy for me when I’m dancing here.

“The crowd has been lovely and in the weekend the energy has been so high.

“The crowds have been packed and it’s been such a nice energy, and they have been really supportive.”

CJ adds that dancing for the first time at a netball game during the competition has been his favourite so far when he busted a front handspring with a twerk.
