Councillors have granted planning permission for the development of 32 new affordable homes in Bearsden.
At a meeting on Tuesday, East Dunbartonshire Council’s planning board unanimously approved plans to build the homes on land at Nithsdale Crescent.
The development will consist of 24 flats and eight townhouses, a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom units, split across two main blocks.
It will also feature car parking areas, private gardens, and landscaping.

An existing five-storey block of flats will be torn down as part of the regeneration project, which is part of the council’s efforts to provide more housing for tenants in the area.
All homes will be built to Passivhaus standards, which aim to reduce heat loss and energy use, helping to lower carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty by cutting residents’ bills.
Depute council Leader Calum Smith said: “The development of these new homes is good news at a time when the demand for affordable homes in East Dunbartonshire continues to grow.
“These sites will help to meet the needs and aspirations of our residents who are finding it increasingly difficult to get on the housing ladder.
“I grew up just along the road from where these new homes will be built and I am absolutely delighted that we are moving forward with our plans to regenerate the area and offer high quality housing in an attractive environment.”
