Detectives investigating the murder of a Motherwell teen in Northampton say enquiries are “far from complete” after a man appeared in court.
Khadeem Parris, 16, died as a result of a stab wound at an address in Adnitt Road in the Abington area just before 7pm last Tuesday.
Fuad Mohamud, 21, of Thorn Hill Walk, Briar Hill, has appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court and a plea trial date at Northampton Crown Court has been set for August 17.
He is charged with one count of murder.
A 19-year-old man, a 56-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail pending further inquiries, the force said.
Senior investigating officer, detective chief inspector Ryan Catling, has revealed that the investigation is “far from complete” and detectives are trying “establish the full circumstances leading to Khadeem’s death”.
He added: “Officers were out on patrol yesterday (Tuesday, July 14) in the Abington area, speaking to local residents and delivering leaflets, urging anyone who we have not yet spoken to and who thinks they may have relevant information, to share that information with us.
“If you think you can help, please get in touch as soon as possible. Any details or piece of camera footage, however insignificant you may think it is, could be a vital link in the investigation.”
In a statement released by police on Monday, the victim’s family said he was “such a kind son”.
His relatives added: “Words can’t explain how we feel at this time. We cannot understand it and we are utterly heartbroken at his loss.
“Khadeem, we love you, we miss you and you will always be in our hearts.”
