Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a crash with a car in West Dunbartonshire.

Officers were called to the scene of the crash on Glasgow Road in Hardgate, Clydebank, at around 4.15pm on Sunday.

Emergency services attended and the 20-year-old male motorcycle rider was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment to serious injuries.

The female driver of the car was uninjured.

The road was closed for around five hours to allow for investigations to be carried out.

Sergeant Robert Mackie of Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Road Policing said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash and hasn’t already spoken to officers to contact us.

“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may have dash cam footage which could assist to get in touch.”
