A motorcyclist has died following a crash with a lorry in South Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to the B730 near its junction with the A719 at Fail to Tarbolton around 9am on Friday after a crash involving a red Zontes ZT125 motorcycle and a black DAF lorry.

A 35-year-old man who was the rider of the motorbike was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other injuries.

The road was closed for ten hours while crash investigations were carried out and reopened around 7pm.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died.

“Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash are continuing, and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened to please contact us.

“In addition, anyone with dash-cam footage which may have captured anything relevant is asked to come forward.”
