A motorcyclist has died following a crash involving a van in Lanark.
The crash happened on the A70 at around 3.20pm on Monday, and involved a black Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle and a silver Renault Master van.
The rider of the motorbike, a 57-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van did not require treatment.
The road was closed and reopened at around 10pm on Monday night.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Stephen MacDonald said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“We’d also ask anyone with dash-cam footage which could assist our enquiries to come forward.”
