A probe has been launched by police into the incident, which saw four Iveco vehicles targeted on Tuesday evening.

Multiple flatbed vans have been deliberately set on fire at a business park in Dumfries.

The four Iveco vehicles were targeted between 9pm and 11pm on Tuesday evening at Garroch Business Park, near to Cargen Tower.

Another nearby flatbed van was also damaged during the incident.

Emergency services attended and the fires were put out by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no reported injuries.

Detective Constable Christopher Trosh said: “These fires are being treated as wilful and an investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances.

“We are appealing for any witnesses who were near the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious. In addition, anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage which may have captured any vehicles coming and going from the area, is asked to contact police.”
