A murder investigation has been launched after an 82-year-old woman died after being found injured in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called around 4am on Saturday to a report of a woman injured in Cardowan Road in the Carntyne area of the city.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, with her death being treated as suspicious.
She has now been named as 82-year-old Elizabeth Colligan.
A murder investigation has now been launched, with officers following a positive line of enquiry.
Grant McKinnon, 30, was last seen in the same area at the same time.
Police have described him as “dangerous” and warned members of the public not to approach the missing man, saying they should instead call 999.
Detective Inspector Gordon Walker said: “Our thoughts remain with Elizabeth’s family and friends during this very difficult time. We are continuing to offer them our support as the investigation progresses.
“Officers are following a positive line of enquiry and work is ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what has happened.
“This includes door-to-door enquiries in the local area, as well as a detailed review of all available CCTV footage.

Chief Inspector Jon Watters said: “We understand that this will be concerning for the local community, and we want to reassure the public that extensive enquiries are underway.
“There will continue to be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days, and anyone with information or concerns is encouraged to speak with officers.”
