A Glasgow-born wrestler says a live episode of WWE Monday Night RAW coming to the city will be “unmissable” for fans.
The US sports-entertainment giant is bringing a televised edition of RAW to the OVO Hydro on March 24 this year – with the show set to be streamed live on Netflix.
The streaming giant recently broadcasted a boxing match between Mike Tyson and YouTuber Jake Paul on its platform as it aims to show more live sport.
It comes after WWE brought Scotland’s first ever Premium Live Event to the city in 2024 with Clash at the Castle.
The sold-out show featured former World Champion Drew McIntyre, and other Scottish talent such as Alba Fyre, Isla Dawn and Piper Niven.
Now, for the first time since 2016, Monday Night RAW will emanate live from Glasgow with fans able to watch on Netflix.
Dawn, who won the Women’s Tag Team Championships to a raucous ovation at last summer’s show, says the Glasgow crowd will bring a different level of excitement.
She told STV News: “To get a live episode of RAW and it being on Netflix is the icing on the cake coming back to Glasgow.
“It is always such a good crowd and so much fun to wrestle in front of. It’s exciting for everyone in and out of the ring.
“The energy the fans bring is in a purely loving way, being so invested in the characters.
“Wrestling has a massive fan base worldwide but to have it on Netflix could attract people who have never watched before.”
The show in Glasgow comes weeks before WWE’s landmark annual event Wrestlemania in Las Vegas on April 19 and 20.
She added: “The whole road to Wrestlemania is the semi-final before the final. It is all bubbling up and is going to come to a head soon.
“Fans in Glasgow will get to see the top stories and the top stars. It will be unmissable.”
On winning the titles in Glasgow last year, Isla said: “I remember looking at my mum in the front row and seeing her in tears.
“It felt like a whirlwind.”
