A nine-year-old boy is in hospital with “serious injuries” after being knocked down by a car in Paisley.

Officers responded to a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Bridge Street around 5.35pm on Monday, September 16.

The boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.35pm on Monday, September 16, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on Bridge Street, Paisley.

“The nine-year-old child was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 5.32pm on September 16 to attend an incident on Bridge Street, Paisley.

“An ambulance, special operations response team (SORT) and a trauma team were dispatched to the scene.

“One patient was transported to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
