November 2021 date for delayed climate conference confirmed

Key climate talks will now take place between November 1 and 12, 2021, the UN’s climate body, the UNFCCC, and the UK Government have announced.

Cop26, which was due to take place in November 2020 but was postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic, will now take place in Glasgow a year later than scheduled.

The conference’s president Alok Sharma said: “While we rightly focus on fighting the immediate crisis of the coronavirus, we must not lose sight of the huge challenges of climate change.
