Four people were rescued on Saturday after they were found clinging to an upturned dinghy in Argyll and Bute.
The passengers were unable to call for help because they had no radio and their phones were underwater.
But the group was spotted by a passing yacht near the isle of Lismore at around 7.15pm.
Oban RNLI was sent out to rescue the three men and one woman, who were not wearing lifejackets.
Paramedics attended the scene and found the woman was hypothermic while one of the men had suffered a knock to the head.
They reached the mainland by 9.20pm and were taken away by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
A coastguard spokesman said: “They had rowed out fishing but their vessel tipped over and they ended up in the water.
“They were not that far offshore but they could not make it back and were desperately clinging to the upturned dinghy.
“It was lucky the yacht came by when it did otherwise it could have been a different outcome.”
