One man was injured and five arrested after armed police responded to a disturbance in Greenock.
Police, including firearms officers, were called around 3.30pm on Saturday to a disturbance on John Wilson Street in the town.
One male had sustained a minor head injury, according to officers.
Two women, aged 40 and 38, and three men, aged 59, 49 and 45, were arrested.
Inverclyde Community & Road WatchThey were all subsequently released pending further enquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.30pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026, we were called to a report of a disturbance on John Wilson Street in Greenock.
“Officers attended, and one male had sustained a minor head injury.
“Two women, aged 40 and 38, and three men, aged 59, 49 and 45, were arrested and subsequently released pending further enquiries in connection with the incident.”
