iStockA man has died, and two men have been taken to hospital after a property fire in Argyll and Bute on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Lochnell Street in Lochgilphead after a report of a house blaze at around 7.45am.
One man was pronounced dead at the scene, his next of kin has been made aware.
Two men were taken to hospital for treatment.
Streets surrounding the property remain closed to drivers and pedestrians, including Lochnell Street, Union Street and Campbell Street.
Residents are advised to stay inside with their windows and doors closed.
Detective Inspector Peter MacMillan said: “Our thought are with the family and friends of the man that has died in this fire.
“Our investigations into the cause are ongoing but it does not appear to be wilful.”
