An M8 junction is set to be closed overnight as emergency repairs are carried out on a burst sewer main.
Lane two of the motorway’s westbound carriageway on-slip at Junction 25A, Braehead Interchange, was shut from 8.30am on Friday, after contaminated water flooded onto the road.
The incident caused disruption to drivers and a stench around Braehead Shopping Centre.
Scottish Water operatives were on the scene to clean up the contaminated water in the area.
The junction is due to be closed on Saturday for the duration of the repairs, which are anticipated to take up to a week to complete.
The junction closure will be in effect from 10pm until 6am each night, to minimise the impact on motorists on the busy route.
The pipe will be excavated and repairs are due to begin on Sunday night.
A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: “We thank road users for their ongoing patience while these essential repairs are carried out.
“We understand the disruption this may cause motorists; however, we are liaising closely with Amey and working to minimise the disruption as much as possible.”
