Attempted murder probe after man injured in 'targeted attack'

The 24-year-old was taken to hospital following the incident on Paisley's Stock Street on Saturday.

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted murder in Paisley.

A 24-year-old man was found with “life threatening” injuries on the town’s Stock Street at around 9pm on Saturday.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by ambulance for treatment to his injuries.

Officers believe this was a “targeted attack” and have appealed for anyone with information into the incident to come forward.

Detective sergeant Jason Buxton said: “I want to reassure the public that this appears to have been a targeted attack however it is vital we find out exactly what happened so we can trace the person responsible.

“I would urge anyone who saw what happened, who has dashcam footage of the area at the time or who has any information about the attack to get in touch with police.”
