Police officers were attacked a total of eight times and attended 43 drug-related incidents during TRNSMT last month, according to a Freedom of Information request.

A total of 19 people were charged during the Glasgow Green event, headlined by 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol, for a number of offences including police assault, assault, sexual assault, culpable and reckless behaviour, hate crime and possession of weapons.

An FOI released by Police Scotland has disclosed a breakdown of the 124 incidents which occurred during the weekend of July 11 to 13.

Police were assaulted eight times, with five of the attacks occurring on the opening day of the music festival. Officers also responded to 12 attacks on members of the public.

Over the weekend, 43 drug-related incidents, including misuse of Class A, B and C substances, occurred.

Two sexual assaults were also reported to authorities during the event. On Friday, July 11, one incident involved an individual wearing an item linked to a proscribed terrorist organisation.

Police were called to two incidents of people with weapons, including someone with a bladed article.

On the closing day of the festival, officers responded to two incidents of racially aggravated behaviour.
