Police believe a stolen car may have been used by suspects who fired gunshots in a “targeted attack” in the north of Glasgow.
Officers investigating a firearms incident, which happened on Salmona Street in Hamiltonhill around 11.30pm on Thursday night, say a purple Nissan Pulsar may have been used by the perpetrators.
The shots were taken by individuals who got out of a car, before returning to the waiting vehicle which drove in the direction of Auckland Street.
The car – registration SE66 KNN – was stolen from Kilwinning on Thursday, December 5, and found burnt out on Manse Road on Friday.
Police have launched an appeal for information and have asked anyone who may have seen the car between December 5 and January 17 to get in touch.
Detective inspector John Morrison said: “We believe that the purple Nissan Pulsar may have been used by those who discharged the firearm and are appealing for anyone who may have seen the vehicle to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who has private CCTV or who was in the area and may have dashcam footage to check the footage for anything of significance which may assist in our enquiries.”
