A pedestrian is in hospital after being hit by a police car in Dumbarton.

The collision involving the marked Police Scotland vehicle happened on Glasgow Road at around 8pm on Saturday.

The street was closed off between Bruce Street and Eastfield Crescent, blocking access to Dumbarton East train station.

Emergency services attended and the pedestrian was taken to hospital for treatment.

Drivers have been advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
