Police hunt masked men after car deliberately torched in Blantyre

Police are hunting two masked men after a car was deliberately torched in South Lanarkshire on Sunday.

Emergency services were called to Ivy Place in Blantyre at around 11.40pm after reports of a vehicle on fire.

The blaze was extinguished, and no one was injured in the incident.

Detectives are checking relevant CCTV footage from in and around the area. Enquiries carried out so far have established that two men, pushing a bicycle, were seen in the vicinity at the time of the incident.

The males were dressed in black clothing and wearing face coverings.

Detective Constable Stuart Adams said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the fire to think back and consider if they noticed anything suspicious or unusual.

“I would also appeal to any motorists with dash-cam to check their footage for any images which could assist our investigation. Any small piece of information could prove relevant.”
