Police are investigating reports of “threatening behaviour” towards a Dumbarton FC player.
The Scottish League Two club said it was aware of an alleged incident taking place at its away match to East Fife in Methill on Saturday, March 9.
Police said enquiries are ongoing into the incident which was reported to officers on Monday, March 11.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing after police received a report of threatening behaviour towards a Dumbarton football player on Saturday, March 9, 2024.
“The matter was reported to police on Monday, March 11, 2024.”
A Dumbarton FC spokesperson said: “We are aware of an alleged incident that took place at our match away to East Fife, and this is being investigated by Police Scotland.
“The club will make no further comment at this time.”
