Police are investigating the “unexplained” death of an man in Hamilton.
Officers were called to Morgan Street around 6.55pm on Saturday, October 26 where a 23-year-old man was taken to Hairmyres Hospital and pronounced dead.
Officers said the death is currently being treated as unexplained and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown.
Chief Inspector Neil Smith said: “Around 6.55pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024, we were called to Morgan Street, Hamilton.
“A 23-year-old man was taken by ambulance to Hairmyres Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
“His next of kin are aware.
“Officers are currently working to establish the exact circumstances surrounding his death.
“A postmortem examination will take place in due course and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
“There is an increased police presence in the area while officers carry out their enquiries and anyone with concerns is asked to speak to them.
“Anyone with information that may assist our enquiries is asked to contact 101 quoting reference number 2991 of October 26.”
