Arrest made in connection with death of man found injured outside home

Police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a man who was discovered seriously injured outside his home in North Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to Pollock Crescent, in Kilwinning, at around 1.55pm on Friday after they received reports of an injured man.

Medical teams pronounced John Taylor dead at the scene. A murder investigation was launched following the 44-year-old’s death.

Police Scotland has since confirmed that a 26-year-old man has been apprehended in connection with the incident.

Enquiries into the death are still ongoing.

A statement from the force read: “A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of John Taylor in Kilwinning.

“Mr Taylor was found with serious injuries on Pollock Crescent around 1.55pm on Friday, 18 October, 2024. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
