Police probing assault after teen found with 'serious injuries' on Inverclyde street

Police are investigating after a teenager was found with “serious injuries” on a street in Inverclyde in the early hours of Monday morning.

Emergency services were called around 4.20am on Monday to a 16-year-old male found with serious injuries in the King Street area of Port Glasgow.

He was taken to hospital for treatment.

In an update issued on Thursday, Chief Inspector David Doherty, Police Scotland’s area commander for Inverclyde, said: “Following extensive enquiries, officers have established the male was assaulted and our investigation is ongoing.”

Anyone with information about the incident, or with CCTV or dashcam footage in the area is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident 0369 of September 21.
