Police are searching for a man and a woman after a 30-year-old was attacked in a seaside town in North Ayrshire.
Emergency services were alerted to a disturbance on Argyle Road near the junction with Raise Street in Saltcoats at around 12.10am on Sunday.
A 30-year-old man was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
Officers are looking to trace a man with fair hair, wearing black shorts and a light-coloured jumper.
They are also looking to trace a woman described as wearing a full-length black dress and black, flat shoes.
Both suspects made off along Argyle Road.
Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the attack to come forward.
Detective sergeant Daniel Small said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed this to contact us.
“We also ask anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area at the time to come forward.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0075 of Sunday, July 13, 2025.”
