Police tasered a man after responding to reports of a woman being allegedly attacked with a metal dog lead.
Officers were alerted to the alleged assault in Glasgow’s Shettleston Road at around 12.50am on Wednesday.
Police said a Taser was subsequently deployed. A man and a woman were thereafter taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
A report will now be submitted to the force’s watchdog, the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (Pirc).
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were made aware of an assault on Shettleston Road, Glasgow, around 12.50am today.
“Officers attended and a Taser was subsequently deployed.
“A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. A report will also be submitted to Pirc, as is standard procedure following the deployment of a Taser.”
