Police have thanked the public after they helped identify a cyclist who died at a roadside in Helensburgh.
The man was reportedly pushing his bicycle in the Glen Fruin Road area when he took unwell.
Emergency services attended the scene at around 11:50am on Saturday, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is not believed to be suspicious and is being treated as unexplained at this time.
Detectives said on Sunday that a member of the public has come forward to help with enquiries, and they now believe they know who the man is, although formal identification has still to take place.
Detective Sergeant Neil Allison said: “I would like to extend my thanks to those people who called in to assist with our appeal.
“We believe we now know who the man is which has been helped by the assistance we received from the public.”
