Police have said they are “increasingly concerned” for a missing 81-year-old after her car was found near a beach in Dumfries and Galloway.
Officers confirmed on Monday evening they are working with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard in an effort to trace Nancy Hill from Kirkcudbright.
It has not yet been established when she was last seen, but her silver-coloured Citroen Picasso car has been traced within the car park at Dhoon beach.
The 81-year-old is described as 5ft with white, shoulder length hair. She is believed to be wearing a maroon-coloured knee length smock dress and training shoes.
Inspector Lloyd Caven said: “We have yet to establish when Nancy was last seen but as time passes, we are becoming increasingly concerned for her wellbeing and safety.
“We are working closely with our colleagues at Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and HM Coastguard in an effort to trace Nancy.
“I urge anyone who has seen her today or anyone who knows of her current whereabouts to contact police immediately.”
