Primark is set to open its latest Scottish store in Glasgow ahead of the festive season.
The new location at Glasgow Fort will open on Thursday, December 5, and will become the retailer’s 21st store in the country.
Primark has recruited 200 new members of staff ahead of the opening.
Primark area manager for Scotland West & Cumbria, Gavin O’Reilly, said: “We’re looking forward to opening in just a few weeks’ time at Glasgow Fort.
“We’re really proud of this store and what it will soon be offering our customers, we’re confident there will be something for the entire family to enjoy.”
Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, said: “The launch of Primark has been an eagerly awaited moment for many of our visitors.
“It’s a fantastic addition to the centre and one I know will be very popular with our shoppers, who I’m sure will be very pleased it’s here just in time for Christmas.”
Primark already has three locations in Glasgow, on Argyle Street, Sauchiehall Street and at The Forge Shopping Centre.
The new Glasgow Fort store will be the retailer’s 195th store in the UK, and forms part of a wider £100m investment across the UK this year.
This comes as Primark continues to celebrate 50 years on the Great British high street after first opening its doors in September 1974 in Derby, England.
The retailer’s first store to open in Scotland was in 1975 in Hamilton, which stands on the same site today and remains Primark’s smallest store in the world.
