A prisoner who scaled the roof of a Scottish jail and threw “tiles at officers” on the ground is back in custody.
On Sunday afternoon, staff at HMP Barlinnie in Glasgow’s east end were alerted to reports of a detainee on the roof.
The prisoner was alleged to be throwing slates from the roof at officers below.
The Scottish Prison Service confirmed on Monday that the prisoner was brought down “safely” and the situation is under control.
A spokesperson said: “The individual is now down safely and the incident has been resolved.”
