Up to 450 homes could be built on the site of the former IBM factory in Inverclyde under plans submitted to the council.
A planning application has been put forward, revealing a blueprint for a mixed-use development on the spot at Spango Valley in Greenock.
The application seeks permission in principle for up to 450 homes, as well as areas of new employment, leisure, community and retail use.
The proposals include a new park and ride facility, next to to IBM Rail Halt, which would see the station re-opened to the public.
If given the go ahead, the project could see a £100m investment in the area, with the creation of 130 jobs in construction and a further 300 jobs upon completion.
Sandy Easdale, joint owner of the site with brother James, said: “We are delighted that the planning application has been submitted as we look to deliver this massive opportunity for the local area.
“We believe that these proposals will have a significant positive economic impact across Inverclyde, providing a large mix and number of quality new homes, as well as modern employment, commercial and retail space.
“Not only will the development attract new people to the area, but it will be desirable to those already living here.”
