A Rangers fan who assaulted two police officers has been jailed for six months.
John Boyd, 27, attempted to headbutt constables at Ibrox Stadium on November 9, 2023.
Rangers were in Europa League action against Czech outfit Sparta Prague in a match the hosts won 2-1.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Boyd was ejected from the stadium.
Police noted that Boyd, of Prestwick, Ayrshire, acted aggressively and was intoxicated.
Prosecutor Jeremy O’Neill said: “While in handcuffs, he attempted to headbutt officers who were escorting him and he threw his head at police.
“Due to his aggressive behaviour, he was restrained on the ground with leg straps applied.
“He began to spit towards an officer but the spit landed on the ground.”
Boyd was eventually arrested and found to be subject to bail curfew conditions.
Mr O’Neill added: “Recovered from Boyd, was a cut off monitoring tag.
“Boyd refused to answer questions regarding this.”
Boyd pled guilty to breaching bail conditions as well as two charges of assaulting the police officers.
Alexander Davis, defending, told the sentencing: “He was intoxicated and remembers nothing other than catching a train to Glasgow.”
Boyd – who is currently serving a sentence for another matter – refused to attend court.
Sheriff Shirley McKenna stated that his latest period of imprisonment will run consecutively to his current sentence.
