Rangers have offered a refund to fans traveling to Amsterdam ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Ajax after the club’s official travel partner cancelled flights.
A number of fans of the Ibrox club were expecting to travel directly from Glasgow to Amsterdam for the Champions League match after booking with Corporate Travel Management (CTM), the official travel partner of the Glasgow club.
However, supporters were left angry after receiving the itinerary from the travel firm on Tuesday morning – which revealed the flight had been cancelled.
Rangers confirmed that any supporters who booked through CTM would be getting refunds and discounts.
An email from the club to affected fans read: “We are aware of ongoing alterations to your travel plans ahead of the UEFA Champions League Matchday 1 fixture against AFC Ajax in Amsterdam.
“This is beyond the control of our club as we are relying on our travel supplier to facilitate these arrangements and are bitterly disappointed at the ongoing issues.
“Rangers Football Club would like to thank you for your loyal backing and support for this fixture as well as your patience during this frustrating time.
“We share your frustration at the alterations to travel itineraries, especially at such late notice. We deem this unacceptable and are conducting a full review of the supplier arrangement with CTM.
“We wish all Rangers fans travelling to The Netherlands a safe journey – and be assured that the Club shares your concerns.”
Rangers and CTM travel have been contacted for comment.
