Rape investigation launched after person attacked in lane

An investigation has been launched after a person was raped during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Emergency services were called to Sauchiehall Lane in Glasgow at around 3.10am following reports of a serious sexual assault.

No arrests have been made in connection with the crime. Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.10am on Wednesday, November 12, we received a report of a serious sexual assault in the Sauchiehall Lane area of Glasgow.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
