The Renfrew bridge has reopened after bomb squads were called to investigate a possible ordnance device.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team, alongside Police Scotland, cordoned off the bridge around 10am on Monday to assess the item, which was found in a nearby building site.
Motorists and pedestrians were asked to avoid the area.
The Renfrew Bridge, which connects Meadowside Street in Renfrew and Dock Street in Yoker, officially opened on May 9.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Renfrew Bridge is closed after a possible ordnance device was found around 10am this morning on a building site nearby.
“Explosive Ordnance Disposal has been contacted.
“Motorists and pedestrians are asked to find alternative routes.”
