The Rest and Be Thankful has been closed for the second time in week over “safety concerns”.
The road on the A83 has been troubled with landslips leading to closures, with a 500-tonne landslide last weekend caused by heavy rain sparking a closure for drivers.
A hillside inspection and safety review took place on Tuesday with a considerable volume of debris caught in fences and pits along the side of the road.
Now Traffic Scotland warned motorists that the road was closed on Wednesday night due to “safety concerns” with an inspection to take place on Thursday morning.
The road is the highest point on the A83 as it passes through Glen Croe.
BEAR Scotland said on X: “Due to safety concerns the A83 Rest and Be Thankful has been closed.
“Traffic is now being diverted via the A83, A82, A85, A819 and A83.
“Inspections will resume in daylight hours, apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
