A road was closed and a man taken to hospital following an early morning attack in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to Blackfriars Street near the Aldi supermarket on High Street around 2.20am on Friday morning following reports of a serious assault.
A 43-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
Following the assault, a large police presence was spotted in the area, with Blackfriars Street sealed off by officers.
Police said enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.20am on Friday, September 18, 2026, we were called to a report of a man seriously assaulted on Blackfriars Street in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a 43-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
“Enquiries are ongoing and officers remain in the area.
“Anyone with any information or concerns can approach them, or call 101 quoting incident 0263 of Friday, September 18, 2026.”
