iStockTwo people have been taken to hospital following a crash in Kilbirnie.
Emergency services were called to the A760 around 4pm on Saturday, following the collision involving a Kia Sportage and a BMW X3.
The occupants of both vehicles were taken to hospital for treatment.
The road was closed to allow for investigations to be carried out and reopened around 11.30pm.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
Road Policing sergeant Ross Allison said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone who was on the A760 at the time and saw what happened or has any information which may assist with our investigations.
“I’d also ask drivers with dashcams to please review your footage and bring anything you think may be of importance to our attention.”
