Royal Mail has suspended deliveries to some residents in Renfrewshire following an alleged attack on a postman.
Police confirmed enquiries are ongoing after receiving a report of a man being assaulted on Carrick Road in Bishopton on Wednesday, February 25.
In a letter seen by STV News, residents were informed that deliveries were suspended in the area following a “serious incident of abuse” towards a staff member.
Royal Mail said in the letter that the level of risk in delivering to the properties was “unacceptably high” following the incident.
Residents living on Carrick Road, Craighead Road, Almond Drive, Cawdor Crescent, Morar Crescent, Yarrow Crescent, Teviot Drive and Ettrick Drive are affected.
Locals have been told their post can be collected at the Erskine Delivery Office on Rashielee Avenue while deliveries are suspended.
Anyone unable to collect the post from the delivery office is asked to get in touch with Royal Mail to discuss alternative arrangements.
A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “The wellbeing of our colleagues is our highest priority and we will take the necessary steps to ensure their safety at work.”
