Sam Smith has announced that a rescheduled concert set for Glasgow on Thursday has been cancelled.
The Gloria tour date, which was originally set to take place at the Ovo Hydro on April 21, was rescheduled for May 25 after the singer suffered from illness.
However on Thursday, a spokesperson for the Ovo Hydro revealed the gig would not be going ahead after The Latch singer suffered a vocal cord injury.
It comes after they cancelled their Manchester performance after four songs on Wednesday.
Refunds will now be issued to all those who purchased tickets for the Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham shows.
The singer apologised to fans, but said that they could suffer “permanent damage” to their voice if they performed.
A spokesperson said: “Doctors have advised due to a vocal cord injury, Sam must have complete vocal rest.
“Sam is heartbroken to have had to cancel these shows but they have been told by doctors that if they keep singing, they will do permanent damage to their voice.
“If they take some rest, they will be able to perform again.”
