iStockA schoolboy who disappeared three days ago after boarding a bus to Edinburgh has been traced.
Police launched an appeal to find Reece Guntley after he was reported missing on Thursday from Cumbernauld.
He was later spotted at Buchanan Bus Station around 1am with a group of girls, before boarding a bus to Edinburgh.
Police had said they were growing concerned for Reece’s welfare and launched an appeal to find him.
On Sunday afternoon, officers confirmed the 12-year-old had been traced.
A police spokesperson said: “We are pleased to report 12-year-old Reece Guntley reported missing from the Cumbernauld area on Thursday, October 1, 2026 has been traced.
“Thank you to everyone who shared our information.”
