Stewart Wilson was seen reaching speeds of over 100mph while travelling north on the M6 in August last year.
The 33-year-old from Motherwell was stopped on Stubbins Lane near Garstang, with police noticing that he appeared anxious throughout their conversation and asked if he was going to jail.
Lancashire ConstabularyWhen questioned, Wilson said there was something in the boot of the car, but he wasn’t sure what it was.
The car was searched, following which officers found 25kg of cocaine inside a box in the boot.
Wilson was arrested at the scene and later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine.
He was jailed for five years at Preston Crown Court on February 5.
Lancashire ConstabularySergeant Dave Benson of Lancashire Police’s Specialist Operations Road Crime Team said: “As shown in this case, an important part of our work is identifying those involved in the supply of drugs and ensuring they are brought to justice to help keep our communities safe.
“Drug supply and drug use have a damaging effect on neighbourhoods, bringing disruption, criminal activity and hardship to the people who live there.
“By targeting those responsible, we aim to reduce this harm and protect our communities from further impact.”
