Family transform house for Halloween with 'Witching Hour' theme

Cameron Clark, whose birthday is on Halloween, has put together a 'spooktacular' display at their Seamill home.

Halloween decorations are becoming increasingly popular and this week, popping up on and in houses across the country, but not many have gone for it on the scale of the Manor House, in Seamill.

Cameron Clark was born on October 31 30 years ago and along with his American mum Donna, who owns the local Christmas shop, he has put together quite the ‘spooktacular’ display over the past ten years, attracting visitors from all around.

Showing STV around his frighteningly fabulous garden and home, he said: “This is our Witching Hour walkway theme for this year.

“Halloween, although it’s supposed to be spooky; we get newborns that come through and very young children – it’s very much a family affair.”

And it’s a family affair behind the display.

Cameron’s love of decorations coming from his parents, who threw incredible Christmas and seasonal parties for neighbours when he was growing up and treasured every chance to mark each special occasions in style.

Families have flocked to view the house

Now, he’s carrying on the tradition, welcoming thousands of visitors through the doors to marvel and the ghosts, ghouls, lights and giant witches and skeletons who adorn his garden.

“Halloween takes about eight to nine months to plan and then four to five weeks to put in place,” he said.

As well as delighting visitors, it also raises money for charity, with all proceeds from tickets to the attraction going to local charities.

While you can’t even begin to imagine how they take everything down, there’s no time for Cameron to rest as after next week, he’s got 30 days for the Christmas turnaround, when the whole house is transformed into a winter wonderland.

The Clarks certainly know how to do seasons in style!
