Search for missing man from Ayrshire spotted in London Police Scotland

A search is underway to trace a missing man from Ayrshire who has been spotted in London.

Charles Denholm, from New Cumnock, was last seen by a family member at around 12pm on Wednesday in the Hamilton Drive area of the town.

The 39-year-old has since been sighted near Wembley Stadium in England’s capital at around 2.50am on Thursday.

Police are now appealing for the public’s help in tracing him as concern over his wellbeing grows.

He is described as being around 5ft7 with a stocky build and short brown hair.

When he was last seen he was wearing a black tammy hat, a blue zip-up top and blue jeans and is driving a black Volkswagen Golf GTI, reg GY08 NXE.

Sergeant Mark Wason, of Cumnock Police Station, said: “Charles’ family are extremely concerned for his wellbeing and we are asking members of the public to assist us in tracing him. 

“We believe he is currently in the London area and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen him, or a car matching the description, to please pass this information to police. 

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101.”
