A search of the River Kelvin is still ongoing four hours after the alarm was raised on Thursday.
Emergency services have been seen on Glasgow’s Argyle Street, close to the riverbank, following an incident.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to assist Police Scotland at around 6.19pm. Two fire engines and two water rescue units are in attendance.
Ambulance crews are also on the scene. The nature of the search is not yet known.
Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
