A search party is to be launched for a missing man last seen at a Celtic bar two weeks ago in Lanzarote.
The family of Gary Shearer, from Renfrew, has flown over to the Spanish island after not hearing from the 53-year-old since the night he arrived on March 16.
A search party has been organised to take place on Friday from Bar 67, where he was last seen in the resort town of Puerto del Carmen .
He has been described as 5ft 3inches in height, with grey/black hair, and walks with a “distinctive” limp.
When last seen, he was wearing a green and white Celtic top.
Sharing a message on its Facebook page, Bar 67 posted: “I met Gary’s family today at Bar 67 and they are absolutely devastated, such nice people and they just want there family member home so if anyone knows anything please message me.”
A post online from his sister, Michelle Shearer, read: “We are organizing a search for my brother Gary on Friday the 31st at 12 noon.
“Please come help us if you have some spare time, meeting across from Bar 67.”
An Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has been reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”
