A second man has been charged with disorder-related offences following a protest outside Celtic Park on Sunday.

The 36-year-old’s arrest follows that of a 22-year-old man who was also charged on Thursday.

Hundreds of fans gathered to call for manager Neil Lennon’s sacking after a 2-0 League Cup defeat by Ross County.

The defeat extended a bad run of form, which sees Celtic 11 points behind Rangers in the league as they chase a historic tenth title in a row.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with disorder related offences following a protest outside Celtic Park on Sunday, November 29.

“A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”

Meanwhile a warning has been issued to anyone planning a similar protest this weekend that it will be met with a “robust” response.

Chief superintendent Mark Sutherland said: “Our investigation into the incident outside Celtic Park on Sunday continues and I would like to reiterate that enquiries are ongoing to establish those involved.

“Disorder of this nature will not be tolerated and any repeat of the scenes witnessed last weekend will be met with a robust police response.”
