Allegations said this was done to Mr McGready’s severe injury, permanent disfigurement, impairment and to the danger of his life as well as attempted murder.
Welsh, of the city’s Govan made no plea at a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Thomas, who has no fixed abode, meantime also made no plea at his hearing and was represented by lawyer Calum Ross.
Both suspects will appear at court again next week.
