A second 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder of Kayden Moy on Saturday.

The 16-year-old from East Kilbride was found seriously injured on Irvine beach following a disturbance around 6.45pm.

He received medical care at the scene but died in hospital a day later.

A 17-year-old male has already appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff court on Tuesday charged with Kayden’s murder.

Detective Chief Inspector Campbell Jackson, Major Investigations Team, said: “Our specially trained officers continue to support Kayden’s family and keep them updated with the progress of our investigation.

“I’d like to thank members of the public who have come forward and continue to ask anyone with information, who has not already spoken to police, to contact us.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing and officers remain in the Irvine and East Kilbride areas. Anyone with concerns can speak to them or call 101.”

Detectives have also set up a website that gives members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the Major Investigation Team, which can be submitted anonymously.
